The Ladies' Auxiliary, Military Order of the Purple Heart awarded National Certificates of Recognition to the John Lyon VFW Post #3150 and John Lyon VFW Ladies Auxiliary #3150 in Arlington, Virginia, "in appreciation for outstanding support of the United States Military, Veterans, and their families, and exemplary service to the community". For over two years, members of the John Lyon Post and Auxiliary have been visiting the Operations Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Enduring Freedom (OEF) veterans recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) in Washington, DC. Twice a month, they have been treating many of them and their families to a delicious Sunday Brunch at the Post with financial, transportation, and hands-on support from members of the Adopt A Soldier organization, including our Greater Washington Unit 353. The John Lyon team has also been one of the most active supporters of our Operation "Welcome Home".
